21342 The Insect Collection
New for September 2023 we have a new ideas Lego set this one being based on some insects.
The set consist of 1111 pieces and was created by Fan designer José María Pérez Suero. In the set you are building three insects the Blue Morpho Butterfly, the Hercules Beetle and the Chinese Manti.
Starting off with the Blue Morpho Butterfly. We noticed it has a lot of plates used to create the wings of the butterfly and looks very nice. At the bottom there is a stand with lots of plants and a bee which comes from the original design.
The Hercules Beetle is a very nice build. Which uses several good building techniques and a lot of yellow and transparent orange pieces. The shell I think uses pieces in yellow for the first time. The stand also looks very nice and has a ladybird from the original design on.
The Chinese’s Mantis is made out of bricks and has lots of long legs. And the front legs have a sword piece that I think is a new recolour of a Ninjago piece. The other thing that we noticed is it is very long and also has the wing piece in light green.
