71804 Arin’s Battle Mech

71804 Arin’s Battle Mech

New for winter 2024, Lego released the second wave of Ninjago Dragons Rising sets. In that wave, they gave us another 4+ set that we think could be one of the best of all time.

Arin’s Battle Mech contains 104 pieces and 2 minifigures. Once you have completed the set, you will have a mech for Arin, a flyer for the wolf warrior, a terrain build and a weapon rack.

.

The top half of the set feels like an EVO mech from 2022, just with the NEXO KNIGHTS cockpit piece and the SCCBS pieces for the arms. The other half of the mech uses the 4+ legs, which could be better.

The villain flyer looks a bit weird once you put the minifigure on with nothing around it. It makes you wonder what they would have done in a bigger set.

The terrain build is our favourite part of the set, since it features the collectables (the mallet and shield), which at the time of writing only come in a £60 set, so this gives you an easier way to get them. The weapon rack is simple but effective, giving you somewhere to place Arin’s katanas.

Minifigure Selection

To be honest, the minifigure selection is not the best. It features Arin with exactly the same torso and legs as the previous wave, and the wolf warrior is good but comes in lots of other sets. Here is the ranking:

NameRanking
Arin2.5 stars out of 5
Wolf warrior4.7 stars out of 5
Overall rating 7.2 stars out of 10

Price

When it comes to 4+ sets, the prices are usually very high, but this one is not bad, costing £12.99 for 104 pieces, which makes it £0.12 per piece.

Overall Review

I would rate this set 8 stars out of 10, the reason being that we do not get a new Arin minifigure and the villain vehicle could be better. I would highly recommend this set if you are not picking up 71809 Egalt the Master Dragon for the collectables.

As part of the Ninjago 10th anniversary special, Lego made 4 special episodes, also known as Season 14, as well as four sets, this one being the location of the Island of the Keepers. The set consists of 632 pieces and five minifigures, and it retailed for £44.99 back in 2021.

Ninjago 71747 Keepers village Built Set

The set itself uses lots of different colours, with grey being the main one, but it also uses a significant amount of transparent orange, which isn’t used much but looks very nice. The inside can be opened up to reveal a prison cell and a little fire; in my opinion, it could do with more in the interior.

As you make your way up the stairs, you will see a throne for the chief to sit on, and on the left there is a stone monster that plays an important part in the set, since it is where you put the collectable Storm amulet that appears in 4 sets.

Ninjago 71747 Keepers village Mini Figures

I think the minifigure selection is quite good, coming with the main villain and 3 of the six ninja in their new outfits. One is also exclusive to the set. The names of the figures are below:

76963 Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center

76963 Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center

New for winter 2024, we have a brand new Jurassic World set, this time a 4+ set with lots of baby dinosaurs.

The set consists of 139 pieces, 2 minifigures and 5 dinosaurs. In the build, you get a car and 2 buildings.

The car is very basic, using the 4+ bike pieces which have been coming in sets for a few years. The rest of the car uses a red and brown colour scheme and has room for a box of vegetables on the back.

The first of the two buildings uses rock pieces to make it look like a cave. It also uses lots of tree pieces to help it blend in. Inside the cave are a computer, a dinosaur egg and more, making it good for play.

The second area is a place for the dinosaurs to eat, with lots of boxes of food. Also, behind there I think there is a recolour of a panel piece.

The dinosaurs in the set are quite small, although some are bigger than others. They also have lots of detail on them. The figures you get in the set are  Darius and Sammy, but for us the dinosaurs are the thing you’re spending money on.

Overall, I think this is one of the better 4+ sets. The only thing I would point out is the price, which is £34.99, but Jurassic Park sets always cost more due to the dinosaurs.

This set releases on January 1st 2024 alongside the other Jurassic Park sets.

75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser

75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser

New for autumn 2023, we have a brand new UCS Star Wars set, this time the long-awaited Venator from the Prequel Trilogy.

The set contains 5374 pieces and 2 minifigures, and the only build in the set is the Venator itself, which will go well next to the Imperial Star Destroyer. It is also a bit more colourful than what came after it.

The ship itself is very long and big, measuring in at 109cm long and 32cm tall, making it one of the longest Lego sets.

The minifigures are very good, giving us Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen, both of which are exclusive and are good choices.

Like all UCS sets, the price is quite high. If you want this model, you will have to part with nearly £600, which is a lot to spend on a set.

The set released on October 1st.
